Your new role

  • Assist with service tenant requests as they are received and dispatched, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all tenant transactions, requests and responses.
  • Assist Senior Building Operator with mechanical rounds and the water treatment program.
  • Cooperate with outside contractors working in the building/s and ensure they comply with building procedures and base building systems, as directed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise, remaining calm and collected even in stressful situations.
  • Assist in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all persons within the buildings and contribute to the safety and appearance of the buildings by picking up refuse, removing snow and graffiti, etc. when noticed in your daily routine.
  • Assist other Building Operators and Maintenance staff with their tasks on a daily basis if called upon.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the Senior Building Operator, Assistant Property Manager and/or Corporate Project Manager.
  • After hours on call coverage required on a rotation basis.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 3+ year's minimum experience as an operator in a commercial, retail and industrial buildings with a thorough understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems, including, work experience in pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers and all air handling equipment. Knowledge of building automation systems, controls and instrumentation would be a definite asset.
  • First-hand knowledge of plumbing/electrical installations and repair with experience in handling construction projects.
  • A thorough understanding of space plans, tenant build-out plans, full mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing drawings. Also a good understanding of fire, life safety systems and equipment.
