Building Operator
Edmonton- ONSITE
3 MONTH CONTRACT
$25-30 hourly

Your new role
- Perform preventative maintenance, as well as unscheduled maintenance and repairs, across all building systems
- Ensure all building equipment operates efficiently, including setting up and monitoring system trend logs
- Participate in occupational health and safety programs
- Manage waste, recycling, and hazardous materials in accordance with WHMIS standards
- Oversee a fully integrated computerized Building Automation System
- Manage and resolve tenant service requests in a timely manner
- Oversee contractors completing tenant improvements, capital projects, and general operational work
- Conduct risk management inspections, implement remedial actions, and complete reporting
- Assist in preparing annual operating and capital budgets, and support execution of capital projects
- Troubleshoot operational issues, including those related to automation systems
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of equipment, valves, dampers, and system override functions, including automation interlocks
- Perform additional duties as assigned from time to time
- Respond to emergency call-backs as required
- Provide after-hours and weekend on-call support, including shift coverage during absences
What you'll need to succeed
- Class 5 Power Engineering Certificate
- WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, and Fall Arrest certifications
- 3–5 years of direct work experience
- Knowledge of office properties with a focus on operations
- Valid driver’s license
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Client-focused with strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to problem-solve with tenants and contractors
- Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple issues and deadlines
- Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
