Bilingual Environment Advisor

Your new role
As an Environment Advisor, you will report to the Senior Advisor, Environment and play a key role in the day-to-day management of environmental risks. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Risk Management (20%): Identifying and assessing environmental hazards, conducting risk analyses, proposing mitigation plans, and collaborating with operational and unionized teams to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Operational Controls and Programs (30%): Developing, maintaining, and improving environmental controls, procedures, and programs related to petroleum product management, air emissions, wastewater, potable water, halocarbons, waste, and hazardous materials.
  • Incident Management (20%): Implementing the incident management process, conducting investigations, preparing reports, and recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitoring and Audits (30%): Planning and conducting environmental inspections, evaluating regulatory compliance, supporting ISO 14001 audits, and prioritizing corrective actions based on risk assessments.


What you'll need to succeed
  • University degree in Environment, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a unionized environment
  • Strong knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001)
  • In-depth understanding of federal, provincial, and municipal environmental regulations
  • Experience in audits and compliance management
  • Excellent written and verbal proficiency in both English and French
  • Key skills: leadership, problem-solving, communication, time management, teamwork, autonomy
