Urgently Hiring: CPA Designated Accounting Manager

Known for delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services, the firm supports a diverse client base including entrepreneurs, not-for-profits, and municipalities. Your new role

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparation and review of working paper files
  • Making recommendations based on analysis and status of corporate and personal accounts
  • Reviewing journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy
  • Training and mentoring junior staff
  • Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations
  • Assisting with financial and tax audits
  • Documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of auditing team
  • Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives

What you'll need to succeed

You are known for your desire to succeed, you work well under pressure, have excellent attention to detail and you understand the need to be flexible with respect to changing priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years professional experience working in Ontario and a thorough understanding of provincial tax laws, regulatory filings, and public accounting standards as governed by CPA Ontario
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation), excellent interpersonal and management skills
  • Experience with Caseware, Tax Prep, QuickBook and Simply Accounting would be considered an asset
  • CPA designation
  • Interest in the CPA In-depth Tax Program or currently enroled in the program would be considered to be an asset.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
