A small, private oil & gas company based in Calgary is seeking a full-time Accountant to join their dynamic and close-knit team. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a broad and impactful role within a growing organization. Your new role

The Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of financial and accounting duties, including:

  • Full-cycle Accounts Payable & Receivable management
  • Government and CRA filings, corporate tax returns, and audit support
  • Financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Payroll support (secondary contact) using ADP software
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Participation in risk management and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ad-hoc reporting and cross-functional collaboration with the leadership team

What you'll need to succeed

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience in the Oil & Gas sector
  • Enroled and actively pursuing a CPA is an asset.
  • Experience with Energy Corridor & Energy Payable (Pandell JV or other JV accounting software is an asset) - training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, evolving work environment
