Your new role

As a Senior Estate Litigation Law Clerk, you will be a key member of the litigation team, supporting lawyers in complex estate, trust, and capacity matters. You will manage files independently, from intake through to resolution, and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth progression of cases. Responsibilities include:
  • Drafting and preparing legal documents such as affidavits, applications, motion materials, and correspondence.
  • Managing deadlines and court filings, including e-filing and service of documents.
  • Liaising with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel with professionalism and discretion.
  • Conducting legal research and reviewing relevant legislation and case law.
  • Organizing and maintaining electronic and physical files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assisting with trial preparation, including compiling briefs and exhibits.
This role requires a high level of autonomy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, candidates should bring:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Law Clerk in estate litigation, ideally within a mid-to-large law firm setting.
  • Strong knowledge of estate, trust, and capacity litigation procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Exceptional drafting skills and familiarity with court rules and processes.
  • Proficiency in legal software and document management systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple files simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • A Law Clerk Diploma or equivalent certification.
