Superintendent Opportunity; Wood Frame Building in Burnaby
Your new company
Our client is a reputable General Contractor who is looking to add a Superintendent to their team in Metro Vancouver. From humble beginnings, the business has since grown it’s operations across Western Canada and to Ontario; establishing a reputation for delivering the highest quality of construction when managing projects. Their philosophy is building lasting relationships with clients, trades and consultants and executing construction with the utmost integrity and commitment. Their portfolio of projects includes market and non-market housing, mixed-use, student residences, health care, institutional and occasionally building for themselves. Due to the healthy pipeline of projects this company have secured they will need to add another Superintendent to their team.

Your new role
As Superintendent you will oversee the construction of a 6-storey wood frame apartment building which is comprised of over 150-units and located in Delta. The role will involve overseeing a number of onsite staff to ensure quality control, trade coordination, project scheduling, field cost control and safety administration of the project. You will be supported by a project team which will include an Assistant Superintendent, CSO and Quality Control Manager. You will maintain and build on long standing relationships with a number of subtrades and consultants which the company have built over time. Due to this positive reputation amongst vendors and construction management partners their construction sites are typically well run and thus makes the life of a Superintendent much easier.

What you'll need to succeed
This job requires a minimum of 5+ years of previous experience in a Superintendent role working for either a General Contractor or Developer in Metro Vancouver. A proven track record of delivering multi-family projects successfully is a must. This client is in need of a candidate with a good permanent work history, excellent communication skills with good trade knowledge. Journeyman carpentry or related construction qualification considered an asset.
