Role: Sr. SQL Server DBA
Contract Length: 6 months
Salary: Open *depending on experience
Location: Remote (Toronto)

Your New Role
Our client is seeking a Sr. SQL Server DBA with expertise in supporting on prem databases, SSIS/ SSAS, Data warehouse and SQL development for a 6 month contract.

1) Maintain the SQL Server in DEV. INT, UAT, PRE-PROD and PROD environment.
a. Configure the server to the optimum state.
b. Diagnose database issues, like, log investigation, solve deadlock, improve performance, etc.
c. Hands on SQL Server monitor and tunning tools
d. Production support.
e. Daily activities including backup/restore, replicate data, etc.

2) Coordinate multiple projects to optimize the productivities of all projects.
a. Analyze queries’ execution plan and provide query tuning
b. Design database schema including indexing strategy i. Balance the performance of READ and WRITE
c. Design system architecture to manage database traffic
d. Define long term strategy for future expansion and improvement.

3) Other SQL Server tasks as required
