Hays Mechanical Contracting team in Vancouver is recruiting a 3rd or 4th class Shift Engineer to work for a local University here in Burnaby!

They are looking to expand maintenance support on Campus so require a new Shift Engineer to join the team.
Your new Role
As the Shift Engineer, you will maintain and monitor the University’s district energy systems, compressed systems, cooling towers, and other heating systems. This includes the operation of boilers, pressure vessels, a compressed air system, water treatment systems, and operating and troubleshooting combustion system controls. You will be an impactful decision-maker who needs to be responsive to malfunctioning equipment or systems, including determining the priority of work.
What you’ll need to Succeed
To succeed as the Shift Engineer you will need initiative and impactful decision making. You will be able to establish and maintain relationships. You will hold a Class 3 Power Engineering Certificate or Class 4 and five years of related experience in areas such as fuel material handling, compressed air systems, water treatment systems, and controls, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid BC driver's license (Class 5) and basic computer skills required. You will also need to clear a Criminal Record check and join the Union.
