A leading oil and gas (pipeline) industry, with multiple offices across Canada are looking to onboard a Senior Project Management. This is for a minimum 12 months contract role.
Your new role
This role offers working for one of the leading oil and gas industry.
- Manage and oversee the development phase of multiple liquids infrastructure projects. Projects typically include crude oil pipelines, pump stations, tank terminals, and measurement facilities and may consist of greenfield or brownfield development. The proponent can expect to be leading 3 – 6 projects at any given time depending on business and project requirements.
- Build strong relationships with our internal commercial and business development teams and jointly explore business growth opportunities
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to define high-level project scope information using only preliminary business and design requirements
- Prepare technical project proposals that include capital and operating cost estimates, project schedules, operability and risk assessments, and stakeholder engagement strategies
- Develop and manage project budgets and schedules
- Manage all elements of projects through to Final Investment Decision and in some instances, continue to manage projects or scopes through implementation and construction
- With support from our Supply Chain team, oversee procurement of services and equipment, including developing detailed Requests for Proposal
- Concurrently manage multiple external consulting firms provides services such as engineering, environmental consulting, fabrication, construction, etc.
- Engage and work closely with a diverse team of internal employees and effectively incorporate them into project working teams
- Maintain awareness of applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices
What you'll need to succeed
- Engineering Degree preferred (any discipline). A combination of a degree or diploma in a related field (such as Business) would be accepted in conjunction with sufficient industry experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive career experience in designing, developing, implementing, or operating oil, gas, or power transmission assets
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience developing energy infrastructure projects
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in developing or implementing liquids pipeline and facility projects
- A minimum of 3 years of project management experience
- Knowledge of industry best practices for liquids pipeline and facility design, construction, and operations in Canada and the US
- Customer-service mindset with a track record of completing quality deliverables for internal and/or external customers
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to independently manage multiple and competing priorities
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer in Canada or the US
- Proficiency with cost estimating and/or project scheduling software
- Experience working directly with midstream, or pipeline operating company is an asset
- Commercial and/or Operations experience in the energy sector
- Experience in performing pipeline hydraulics simulations
