Your new role
The company is is looking for an OAA Architect t to join their firm to work on primarily on institutional, heritage and adaptive reuse projects. You will be responsible for assembling construction drawing sets from schematic design through to construction administration in AutoCAD, including: site plans, floor plans, elevations, building sections, wall details. The successful candidate will work with current design techniques, building systems, and keep current with design trends, code changes, and developments to sustain and improve technical and design skills. Your role will also encompass preparation of client presentation materials, design development documentation, construction documentation, contract administration and authority submissions on a wide variety of projects under guidance from senior architects.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology or Building Science from an accredited institution.
  • 8+ years relevant experience in an architectural firm.
  • Proven AutoCAD experience (mandatory) and proficiency in MS Office and Bluebeam.
  • Thorough understanding of the Ontario Building Code.
  • Understanding of the procedures of project documentation and administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence working in a construction environment.
  • Strong project coordination experience and ability to manage competing deadlines
