Hays has partnered with a global leader in the metal recycling industry, who provide eco-friendly solutions for companies to efficiently dispose of metals. The company is proudly Canadian and has now expanded globally with almost 100 locations worldwide. Despite their large scale, they are still privately owned and retain that small company culture of really caring about their team.

Your new role
As a New Business Development Manager you are responsible for new client acquisition, managing the full sales cycle including identifying target clients, cold contacting, qualification, conducting prospect meetings, presentation of a proposal, and closing the deal. You will effectively manage your sales pipeline and book of business to ensure that you meet targets for both activity and revenue. You will also collaborate closely with the account management team to support the launch of new clients and renewal of existing clients.
You will spend typically 80% of your time ‘on the road’ visiting prospects and clients in your assigned territory, which is the GTA and surrounding areas. The remaining time will be spent working remotely, with occasional visits to the regional office in Hamilton.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will at least 1 years’ sales experience, hunting for and closing new business in an industrial environment. You will have a strong track record of generating new business revenue, and be highly ambitious and results driven. You will be outgoing and friendly, team oriented and able to quickly make connections and maintain long-term relationships. You will be confident in making cold calls and meeting with prospects in person, and able to efficiently manage your workload, keeping detailed notes of activity and progress.

What you'll get in return
The successful candidate will receive a competitive base salary of $80,000 to $105,000 (dependent on experience), plus an annual bonus. You will also qualify for a benefits package and RSP after a qualifying period. You will receive a car allowance and a gas card.
