Manager, Financial Reporting

Join a leading Canadian non-profit organization committed to financial integrity and transparency. We are seeking a Manager, Financial Reporting to lead external reporting activities and ensure accuracy, compliance, and excellence in financial disclosures that support public trust and organizational accountability. This is a Temporary 3-year contract.
Your new role
As a key member of our Finance and Corporate Services division, you will oversee the planning and delivery of external financial reporting, including annual and quarterly statements, MD&A, and presentations to boards and committees. This leadership role combines technical accounting expertise with team management and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do- Lead the preparation of consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards.
- Oversee MD&A and external reporting deliverables for boards and stakeholders.
- Manage and mentor a team of senior financial analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Conduct accounting research and develop policies, producing clear position papers on complex issues.
- Coordinate external audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors.
- Oversee membership billing processes and assess financial impacts of business changes.
- Collaborate with treasury and other finance teams to ensure alignment across all reporting activities.
What you'll need to succeed
Canadian CPA designation (or CMA, CA, CGA) with deep knowledge of accounting standards and external reporting requirements.
Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting.
Proven success managing reporting teams in complex organizations.
Strong technical expertise in GAAP (ASPE and IFRS), internal controls, and financial frameworks.
Audit experience (public practice or internal) is an asset.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information for diverse audiences.
A continuous improvement mindset and collaborative approach.
