This well-established boutique Law Firm in Pickering is a full-service law firm representing their clients in a multitude of practice areas throughout the Durham Region, GTA, and Ontario. This Law Firm is looking to add a Wills & Estates Law Clerk position immediately due to continued growth within the firm. Known for a great company culture and friendly, collaborative work environment they are centrally located in Pickering, next to the Pickering Town Center and is an ideal opportunity with an easy commute for your permanent full-time in office position.
Your new role
As the Wills & Estates Law Clerk, you will be predominantly supporting 1 Partner and assisting 2 Senior Law Clerks within the firm. In this role, you will be preparing reporting letters to clients, assisting with probate document and other document preparation, and assisting senior law clerks with their filing and management. The candidate will also be one of the faces of the firm by meeting with clients to execute Wills, Trusts, and Power of Attorney documents.
What you'll need to succeed
We’re looking for a Junior Law Clerk with 2-3 years’ experience in a legal setting, practicing Wills & Estates or Real Estate Law along with a Law Clerk, Legal Assistant, Paralegal Diploma or relevant work experience. Candidates with Real Estate law experience that have a desire and willingness to learn Wills & Estates are welcome to apply as thorough training will be provided and many skills are transferrable. In order to be successful in this role, candidates will need exceptional communication and organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, the ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively, and be polished in presentation for this client facing role. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Adobe is required and experience with Cosmolex or other legal accounting software considered an asset. This position is ideal for a Wills & Estates or Real Estate Law Clerk or Legal Assistant looking for a growth opportunity, that enjoys working as part of a team in a very collaborative environment and is looking for a firm with the pace of a downtown firm, without the long commute.
What you'll get in return
Competitive salary that depends largely on experience, ranging from $55,000-$65,000 with 2-3 weeks paid vacation and full benefits package to commence upon completion of the probationary period.
