As technology advances, information systems and technology are essential to business success. Systems administrators are often on staff to ensure all systems have secure connections and perform smoothly to serve the needs of its employees. These technical experts perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs, including software and computer installations and upgrades, routine automation, security maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and technical support for all users and projects of the organization

Your new role
  • Responsible aiding in the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Ability to troubleshoot networking issues (wired and wireless connections)
  • Maintain and monitor security tools
  • Testing software and review logs
  • Helpdesk support using Zendesk, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • Ability to support mobile devices issues (iphone, ipads etc…)
  • Documenting any processes which employees need to follow in order to successfully work within our system

What you'll need to succeed
  • College diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus.
  • Experience using ticket system (Zendesk) or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols (Watchguard, DHCP, Active Directory, VLAN, Unifi AP).
  • Knowledge of Windows server, Office 365, FTPs, SharePoint, OneDrive.
  • Ability to support phone systems (SIP, analog, hybrid and cellular).
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and related software.
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
