Our clients is a leading utilities/energy services that is nationally recognized with multiple offices is looking for a Sr. Business Analyst for a 6-12 month contract with a long term commitment.

Your new role

  • Our client is looking for a Contractor, IT client consultant with extensive experience in identifying an effective business solution to meet the business's needs and goals.
  • The ideal candidate must have a strong background in completing feasibility analyses (cost-benefit analyses of implementing an IT solution), delivering business cases, and experience with conducting technical assessments.
  • The candidate must also have experience documenting the current state gaps, documenting business requirements, and proposing business solutions to meet the business needs.
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Contractor, IT Client Consultant will work in collaboration with various stakeholders (business clients, vendors, enterprise architects, portfolio management team, etc.) to translate business needs into functional requirements for information technology systems.

Business Case Development/Documentation - 70 %
  • Gather requirements using various techniques (e.g. brainstorming, interviews, prototypes, etc)
  • Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders and developers to translate requirements into functional options / solution designs
  • Work closely with developers to ensure that solutions meet the requirements
  • Facilitate demo sessions with business stakeholders to validate that the solution continues to be aligned with business expectations
  • Conduct formal testing to verify / validate that the solution meets the business requirements
  • Output:
    • Requirements specification document
    • Current and future state process maps
    • Data flow diagrams
    • Gap analysis
    • Functional options (solution designs)
    • Use Cases and User Stories

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in Information Technology leading feasibility analysis, business cases and technical assessments.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication and analytical skills
  • Experience across multiple domains / industries
  • Innovative self-starter, able to work in an unstructured environment identifying risk and developing risk mitigation tools and techniques
  • Experience with Data Governance or record management is a bonus
