The Infrastructure and Technical Analyst is a support resource capable of solving the most critical issues and is considered an expert in a range of infrastructure technologies. This includes but is not limited to technical computing infrastructure, corporate storage, and remote branch equipment

Your new role

• Support the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and administration of infrastructure technologies including physical servers and storage infrastructure, and virtualization infrastructure technology
• Troubleshoot all aspects of IT operations – servers, networks, endpoints, and telecommunication systems
• Provide monitoring of infrastructure systems and applications including but not limited to Hyper-V and Cisco Meraki infrastructure
• Perform continuous improvements to infrastructure through monitoring, reporting, analyzing, and enhancing
• Maintain replacement hardware for infrastructure components as appropriate
• Manage storage capacity using best practice design to maintain free space and ensure expected performance (Dell Compellent)
• Ensure that capacity planning is conducted within adequate time to implement enhancements for all Server and Storage Infrastructure elements
• Have a solid understanding of the implementation and management of all aspects of Microsoft Hyper-V technology
• Ensure that the Infrastructure service standards, procedures, and policies are strictly adhered to including but not limited to software and hardware installation, new server builds, infrastructure design and security controls
• Maintain security and integrity of all systems
• Develop and maintain process automation using the tools available
• Deploy scripting or group policy to ensure security and automated maintenance processes

• At least 5-7 years of proven experience working with Information Technology in a multiplatform and multi-vendor environment
• Knowledgeable of Cloud Infrastructure technologies – Microsoft Azure and O365
• Have a solid understanding of the architecture, design, implementation, and management of all aspects of Microsoft Hyper-V Infrastructure technology
• A thorough understanding of SAN technology
• Solid understanding of networking and VLAN designs and topologies
• Dell Compellent management and administration
• Knowledge of networking, servers, hardware, software, desktop, Microsoft Office, and excellent knowledge of information systems and security

Qualifications:

• Solid working knowledge of TCPIP networking protocol including DNS, DHCP
• Solid working knowledge of Level 2 and Level 3 network switching technology
• Solid working knowledge of virtualization technology
• Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, SQL, RDS, Azure and O365
• General knowledge of SAN technology
• Specific working experience with Dell Compellent products would be an asset
• General knowledge of network firewall appliances and specific working experience with CISCO Meraki
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Information Technology or related experience
• At least one certificate in an applicable server technology and at least one certificate in an applicable networking technology
