The business is a mid-sized law firm, based in downtown Toronto that have built their reputation over the last 65 years as a multi service, client focused firm. The firm puts people first and are made up of a team of top professionals who take pride in their work! Due to progression planning, the Human Resources team is hiring a Human Resources Generalist.
Your new Role
As the Human Resources Generalist, reporting directly into the Senior Manager, Human Resources, and working closely with a further Human Resources team, you will focus on managing the day to day people function for the firm. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks and supporting a variety of larger Peoples projects, including; talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, management of the firms HRIS System for all new employee information, terminations, and salary adjustments for payroll, management of the benefits program, performance management, and a variety of other HR projects. This is an opportunity where you will get to manage not only day to day Human Resources operations, inclusive of many administrative tasks, but where you be exposed to other areas of Human Resources, and able to begin to demonstrate acting as more of a strategic Business partner to the firm.
What you’ll need to Succeed
To succeed as the Human Resources Generalist, you will bring a minimum of 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, at a Human Resources Generalist level. You will have education relating to Human Resources, in the form of a CHRP and/ or Human Resources Management Certification. To be considered for this opportunity, you must possess this experience from within another professional services environment, and preference will be given to those who have experience working in legal specifically. You will be well organized, someone who is able to manage a busy workload of competing priorities and be proactive in you’re approach to Human Resources. You will be skilled in MS Office programs, and experience with ADP is considered an asset. You will be a fantastic communicator, both orally and written, who is passionate about excelling their human resources career alongside a leading law firm.

As the Human Resources Generalist, you will be entitled to earn a competitive compensation package, dependent on experience which includes base salary and bonus, vacation, benefits and in the longer term a RRSP. This opportunity is based full time in office in downtown Toronto, and we are seeking individuals who enjoy a fully in office position; although the role is full time in office, there is flexibility with hours as required. Most importantly, you will be joining a fantastic firm, and can work collaboratively with an existing Human Resources team.
