Your new Role

The Human Resources Director will report directly into the Chief Executive and Financial Officer for the organization; this position will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of a variety of Human Resources programs for the Taggart Group of Companies. The Human Resources Director will have ownership over a variety of Human Resources strategies; inclusive of recruitment, employee onboarding and offboarding, employee engagement, leadership and development, talent management, compensation, employee and labour relations, compliance, and policy creation, as well as lead the People function for the entire organization. Other areas of responsibility will include change management, corporate communications and on an as required basis, health, and safety. As the Human Resources Director, you will provide strategic leadership to the Executive leadership group, inclusive of the owners; this position will play an integral role, in leading the services that the Human Resources function can provide for all business units in the Taggart Group of Companies, and will be accountable to drive programming and change within those business units. As the Human Resources Director, you will continually ensure that you deliver an approach that considers all existing employees, prospective employees, managers, and suppliers, acting with discretion, sound judgement and the utmost care and confidentiality are paramount to this role.

What you’ll need to Succeed

To succeed as the Human Resources Director, you will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience acting in Human Resources Management; you will have experience developing and implementing strategies for mid- large sized organizations relating to the areas of Talent Acquisition and Management; with a focus on Recruitment and Retention, Training, Learning and Development, Performance Management, and Change Management. You will bring post-secondary education, in the form of a bachelor’s degree or related, along with education relating to Human Resources, in the form of a Human Resources Management Certification and a CHRL is considered an asset. You will have strong knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and a high regard for the Human Rights Act. Experience in a labour relations environment would be considered an asset. You will be someone who thrives in a high-volume environment and who can manage multiple priorities with ease. You will have a strong attention to detail, and be well organized, you will be able to prioritize multiple competing needs in your day to day and will have experience leading a large team of both direct and indirect reports. Finally, you will be someone who enjoys building long term relationships with both a business and its people, and be passionate about being a professional, confident, and effective People leader.
