Due to growth they are seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician to join their growing yet established team. As an advocate of lifetime career growth, you will receive training and opportunities for promotion within as you grow.
Your new role
Your team will become like family and you’ll be working alongside many people who have enjoyed multiyear employment with SMS.
You will be responsible for either working in the field to perform assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs and complete overhauls of heavy equipment servicing the construction and mining industries. You will need to be able to make recommendations and suggest methods of improvement regarding repairs.
As a heavy equipment technician, you will need to be able to think logically and keep up with changes in technology. You will interpret work orders and technical manuals to guarantee top customer satisfaction. You must be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment and have strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
Location: Alberta, British Columbia, Labrador, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec (as per business requirement)
Shift: 5x2, 7x7, 14x14
What you'll need to succeed
You will possess a Journeyperson / Red Seal HET certification or equivalent and have experience in mobile heavy equipment repair (mobile plant repair). Our successful candidate is intrinsically motivated and committed to making safe choices, when completing all tasks. Excellent customer service and communication skills are invaluable in a dealership environment.
