Our client is hiring for Experienced Red Seal/Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) for a safety-sensitive position to add to our growing team. The HET will have experience working with Dozers and Haul Trucks of all major brands and models (CAT, Hitachi, Komatsu, John Deere) that is motivated, committed and wants to grow with us.

Your new role
In a regularly schedule rotation (7/7) the tech will work 84 hours. 40 of those hours are paid at regular time, and 44 are paid at overtime. + Additional Compensation: Matching RRSPs, Vacation Pay, General Holiday Pay, Sick Time, Allowances (boot & tool), Bonus Structure and Group Benefits (life, critical illness & disability insurance, dental, extended health, vision). An excellent HET will be: •Able to understand equipment systems to effectively and efficiently determine the necessary route for repairs •Highly motivated and self-driven to do their best work every day •Experienced, competent and able to repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain mobile heavy duty equipment •An enthusiastic team player •Able to accept learning opportunities to continually develop themselves professionally and personally •A technician that strives to provide the highest levels of service and quality of work with Heavy Metal's best interest at the forefront of all tasks The people in these positions are currently expected to work 12 hours per shift on a 7/7rotation, starting at 6:00 am. What you'll need to succeed

• A minimum of 3 years experience working with large construction and open pit mining equipment • MUST include in depth experience with CAT, Komatsu, John Deere and Hitachi • Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills • Superior mechanical aptitude • Shop and/or field work experience • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices • Collaborative communication style • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team • A complete set of mechanics tools up to 3/4" drive • Ability to lift and manage 50 pounds without assistance
