Hays Recruitment is recruiting for an Electrical Junior Project Manager to work with a leading, Electrical contractor in Richmond, BC.
Your new Company:
Our client has operated for over 30 years in the Electrical Construction Industry, they have experience in all types of projects including Office Buildings and Towers, High-rise Residential and Mixed-Use, Retail, Building Renovations, Institutional, Hotels, Warehouses, Entertainment Complexes, and, Sports Facilities. They have a fully operating Service Department and really focus on education and training for all employees.
Your new Role:
As the Junior Project Manager, you will be focusing on Residential, Commercial, Light Industrial, and Institutional projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to; maintaining a good relationship with suppliers, consultants, general contractors, and end users, reviewing contracts with Project Management team, identifying bulk buying opportunities, actioning lighting quotations, reading/creating construction drawings, understanding electrical building codes, working with the foreman, superintendent, and project managers as a team to review the project documents and discuss labour requirements and staffing. This role will be great for someone looking to move up from a Project Coordinator level. You will still be required to support Senior Project Managers with their day-to-day operations but will be provided guidance and training to help your career development.
What you’ll need to Succeed:
To succeed as the Junior Project Manager you will have an educational background in one of the following: Electrical trade certificate, Electrical Engineering degree, or Electrical Technologist diploma/certificate. You will hold 3 + years of experience as an Electrical Project Coordinator. Experience working with an Electrical Contractor in British Columbia is required.
