Client: Manufacturing Role: Dynamics 365 Tech Lead Duration – Fulltime Location : Remote (Canada/USA/Australia) Environment: Remote Your New Role The ERP Technical Lead will be responsible for the rollout, maintenance, and enhancements of the D365 platform for the organization. The program team for this implementation includes an external integrator and this role requires working with external implementation partners and internal customers to ensure the product drives a positive customer experience. Individual in this role will report to the ERP Program Manager during the implementation, and will continue reporting to Vice President, Information Technology once the program concludes. Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight for ongoing maintenance and enhancement of D365 application.
- Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders, developers, and technical team members to deliver on business objectives.
- Lead all technical phases of the D365 life-cycle management.
- Work with the platform implementation partner to ensure configurations, development and integrations meet the customer needs.
- Perform platform administration tasks (identity, security, etc.) for development, integration, and production instances of D365.
- Work with project teams in technical demonstrations and conference room pilots to validate the technical design, verify gap assessments, and explore gap resolution options.
- Participate in sprint sessions and assist program manager in ensuring adherence by all implementation partners to program timelines.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of common industry standard business practices for Microsoft Dynamics environments.
- Liaison with technology vendors to support implementation efforts.
- Provide strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into requirements.
- Establish work plan and staffing for project activities, iterations, or phases, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Develop and track project requirements with implementation teams.
- Drive requirements gathering, analysis, design, implementation & testing phases for the platform
- Provide support to technical and non-technical users.
- Act as an escalation point for technical issues and lead or assist in the development of resolution plans as required.
- Ensure that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives.
- Communicate project status at scheduled meetings and serve as a key resource for technical information on the project
- Act as a liaison with partners for product issues.
- Investigate and resolve issues with existing integration workflows and develop documentation for current and future integrations, including field mappings, transformation rules, flow diagrams, and training materials.
- Collaborate with the QA team on developing integration tests to validate solution architecture.
- Develop and maintain systems documentation for business processes, operational procedures, technical design, solution structure and functional know-how, etc.
- Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders.
- Provide and direct user training for external and internal users.
- Collaborate with other teams that are often geographically spread, to define, plan and oversee projects that your team will own or participates in.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain integration processes between Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions and other business systems, including Microsoft D365 and Power Platform based applications and custom solutions hosted on-premises and in Azure environment.
- Deploy changes to production and UAT environments with the support of the development team and perform configuration tasks in accordance with standard deployment guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
TEAM AND PROJECT LEADERSHIP
- Manages team projects and deliverables utilizing common project management frameworks and delivery methods while ensuring team collaboration.
- Responsible for accurate work estimations, project backlog, and tracking complex deliverables and dependencies for multiple varying sized projects.
- Ensures project deliverables adhere to broader technical strategy and that prioritization of features align with appropriate business objectives
- Leads improvement in application management processes and ensures that expectations with technical stakeholders are negotiated and communicated effectively.
Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology management including industry specific technical or leadership certifications.
- Experience with supporting enterprise financial/ERP systems (Microsoft D365 Finance and Operations experience is a must).
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while handling time sensitive competing priorities.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in comparable role with at least 3 years of recent experience managing cloud services.
- Experience working with managed service providers, cloud services, and hosted solutions and Windows server environments.
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Solid understanding of applications, data, integrations, and infrastructure architecture.
- Solid analytical skills, experience solving practical issues and engaging cross functional teams.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while handling time sensitive competing priorities.
- Proven experience with troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, communication skills.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, VB.NET would be considered an asset.
- Ability to lead discussion with business stakeholders and suggest holistic solutions/improvements for both technical strategy and business processes.
- Exhibits strong initiative; self-starter that can lead others in ambiguous situations.
- Ability to influence and drive others toward common goals.
- Leads by example creative and innovative idea generation and influences decisions across different teams.
- Experience with leading or participating in the gathering and documenting of business processes and requirements for the system with key business users.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives of innovation and converge them all into common strategic objectives.
- Experience integrating D365 and Power Platform based applications is desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Business travel within Canada, US, Australia, and other countries may be required.
