A well-established organization in the environmental services sector is seeking a full-time Controller to lead financial management and reporting. This future-facing role is ideal for a strategic finance leader who thrives in a collaborative, multi-entity environment and is passionate about driving operational excellence.
Your new role
- Direct all divisional accounting and financial operations in alignment with corporate standards and IFRS.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and internal reports.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Oversee working capital management, including receivables and payables.
- Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
- Deliver insightful variance analysis and performance reporting.
- Identify and implement cost-saving and margin-enhancing opportunities.
- Manage and mentor divisional finance staff.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate closely with corporate finance to ensure strategic alignment.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audit processes through documentation and issue resolution.
- Lead adoption of new financial standards and corporate initiatives within the division.
What you'll need to succeed
- CPA designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) required.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including 3+ years in leadership
- Experience in a divisional or multi-entity structure preferred.
- Experience working with a publicly traded organization is considered an asset.
- Strong command of IFRS and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and team management skills across multiple departments.
