Your new role
As the Manager of Design your role is to manage and coordinate the design development and technical aspects of a project, as part of an RFP for a design-build project or other types of partnerships. You will manage relationships without outside suppliers and otherwise participate in the RFP process for a variety of projects but focused on Civil projects in the National Capital Region.

In addition you may develop designs and ensure that alternatives are reviewed and that the design is optimized in accordance with the RFP instructions. You will be instrumental as part of the proposal team and work well with all other members of the team.

You will regularly monitor the professional firms’ performance, especially in terms of quality, schedule and costs. Once the contract has been acquired, the design manager’s role on the project team will continue until the design has been finalized

What you'll need to succeed
For this role you must have post secondary education in Architecture as well as experience in the commercial/civil construction industry in a similar capacity. You should have large project experience as well as have worked on all types of bridges, buildings, particularly those with a complex architectural nature, sophisticated systems, environmental issues, etc.), in both Design-Build and Public-Private Partnership (PPP pr P3);

You should have strong knowledge and expertise of virtual BIM-VDC modelling; while being architecture oriented

Bilingualism in French and English is a definite asset and you must either possess or be eligible for a Secret level Canadian Federal government clearance.
