Our client is a well-regarded Civil firm based in Kingston, Ontario. They are engaged in various types of Heavy civil projects which encompass re-construction, site works, and subdivisions.

Your new role
The primary responsibilities of this position will include daily management and performance of:

• Liaison with Management and field operations
• Organize Crew personnel and equipment
• Ordering of product and equipment for site
• Responsible for all on site safety
• Responsible for collection and maintaining of accurate paper work surrounding the project
• Familiar with OPS standards
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act. (Green Book)
• Must obtain recognized supervisory training, and hold certificates in WHMIS, Working at Heights, Trenching, Hoisting and Rigging, CPR, Confined Space
• Quantity surveying – quantifying earth work and site improvements for payment certificates

Some travel will be required and physical labour may be required at times. The successful candidate needs to be able to multi-task and prioritize work load.

What you'll need to succeed

• Minimum grade 12 or equivalent. Survey and/or Construction experience.
• Familiar with survey software, hardware, tools and equipment
• Experience with topography, line work, elevation data
• Total Station/GPS/CAD/Microsoft Office experience an asset
• Effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills with a high level of independence and dependability
• Valid driver’s license
