Interviewing techniques
Each Hays recruitment consultant conducts hundreds of face-to-face candidate interviews per year. Through this process we have assembled a wealth of information and feedback from candidates on their interview experiences. This includes a library of challenging questions, innovative techniques, and best practices. We have taken this knowledge and designed a session where we can share this knowledge with you.
This seminar is offered for a nominal fee. However, if you are referred to our seminar by a Hays employee, the first attendee from your organization is free. Our seminar is designed for:
- managers or supervisors who are being called on to interview for the first time
- hiring managers or supervisors looking for move effective methods of screening qualified candidates
- hiring managers or supervisors seeking to improve the acceptance of extended offers
This seminar provides:
- a structure for the interview to facilitate a complete agenda, making sure all objectives are met on a consistent basis
- an introduction to various ways of qualifying candidates, including role plays, behavioural and situational
- interviewing hot tips on spotting inconsistencies in resumes and candidate backgrounds
- effective questioning techniques to get past the “professional interviewee” to the real candidate
- guidance on how to present your opportunity in its best light and close the candidate
- an opportunity to network and share ideas with other managers of like industries, interests, and backgrounds
This seminar is presented in a workshop format, allowing us to tailor each session to include examples that relate to the unique interests and needs of seminar participants.
