Thank you to all of the Chief Financial Officers across Canada that contributed to our DNA of a CFO Project. It has been an overwhelming success. Despite the diversity in backgrounds and industries of those interviewed, it was fascinating to see that there are extraordinary similarities in key personality traits they attribute to success and their value in motivational management. Being a CFO is clearly a very rewarding job (as 95% told us they are happy with their career choice); however, the journey takes a lot of hard work and passion.

Oil and Gas Job Market Kicks Off 2014 with a Great Start

hays canada job index imageThe start of the year has been positive with an overall increase in the global job index from 1.31 in Q4 to 1.65 in Q1. Several regions are showing higher increases in the number of available jobs, confirming our optimism about the global economic recovery.
The industry still has a significant shortage of skilled talent and this shortage will continue to drive compensation packages as companies fight to secure the talent required to drive their business forward.

I can't believe it has been 11 years since LinkedIn opened its doors and have since then changed the way people apply for jobs. I also want to congratulate LinkedIn for reaching the major milestone of over 300 million users. That is an incredible feat and one we should all celebrate. Over the last year, we have seen an increase in hiring from employers in Forestry and our Resources and Mining team have just celebrated a record month of activity indicating that the industry is gaining momentum.
