Happy Friday everyone, and happy early St Patrick's day. Being Irish myself, I want to wish everyone who is celebrating St Patrick's day, a fun and safe weekend.
For my post today I wanted to share our recent labour market videos, developed based on the findings from our 2014 Salary Guide. Each year we develop a series of market update videos to provide you with further insight into the labour market and what the results mean in terms of recruitment and retention for you as an employer in Canada.
Based on the results of our 2014 Salary Guide, employers are predicting 2014 to be a year of conservative growth. As we approach the end of Q1, these predictions are proving to be accurate as hiring plans are moving forward, business activity is rising across many industry sectors and economic forecasts for the country are looking relatively strong. What this means for those of you who are hiring managers, is that competition is increasing for recruitment. The belaboured story of candidate shortages is unfortunately a very true reality especially as candidates with niche skills sets or experiences are more actively being sought after. We have recently launched an overall Canadian market video, and 3 industry sector specific videos including construction property, accounting and finance and information technology. I encourage you to take a few minutes today and watch these videos. The insight they'll provide you will help you as you plan for the year ahead and longer.
Service is at the forefront of everything we do. Service is not just an element of why we're a great company to work with, its the core and foundation of all aspects of our business, methodologies, and products that we provide you. These market videos are delivered by just a few of our experts, and as part of our commitment to service, we believe it important that you get to hear from our team of experts on a regular basis. Providing you insight and advice to help you make the right staffing decisions for your business based on the current landscape is why we're the leading specialist recruitment company worldwide.
