With detailed salary information for positions within property and facilities management, the BOMA and Hays 2014-15 Salary Guide guide contains region-by-region updates, giving insight and advice on skills in demand, hiring and market forecasts.
Nation-wide shortages and a shallow talent pool for key positions show an industry in need of long-term strategic planning to attract, train and retain top talent. While salaries remain stable overall, compensation is likely to increase for key positions such as power engineers and building operators.
A lack of talent entering the sector, and a shortage of opportunities for junior candidates will exacerbate these shortages and employers need to take a long-term view to ensure future success. Employers should invest in succession planning and internal training to assess and address current talent gaps. We also recommend partnering with local colleges and universities to create a talent pipeline and investing in training junior or entry-level talent.
