IT BootcampWith more industries such as finance and healthcare needing Java and .Net developers, the need for skilled developers in the tech market is rapidly increasing.

A Government of Canada funded study in 2014 found the country will need 182,000 more developers by 2019. Climbing the corporate ladder in IT means continually developing your skills to keep up with emerging technology. One way to add to your skillset, and your resume, is take part in a coding bootcamp.

Coding bootcamps provide a way to “level-up”  and can comprise of anything from 6 to 28 week-long programs of intensive coding. Once graduated, you will have a practical knowledge of coding to add to your complement of skills.

These bootcamps are growing in popularity. Course Report states that in 2014 there were 6,740 graduates from 63 nationwide bootcamps in the U.S. and Canada and for every person that graduated from a bootcamp in 2014, there will be two graduating in 2015 leading to a total estimate of 15,056 graduates.

Employers are looking for candidates with coding skills in these areas:

  .Net Development

Java Development

Software Development

Web Development

Be sure to update your resume and online profile with your news skills and in interviews, tell employers about having completed the course and about your practical knowledge.
